Measuring Psychological Safety

Four dimensions of psychological safety

psychological safety - #1 predictor of team effectiveness

Psychological Safety Index (PSI)- Measurement Baseline

If your business cares about seeing real change in diversity, equity, and inclusion, plus inspiring innovation and creativity, then you need a baseline assessment to know where to start.  This is where the Fearless Organization Scan comes in, which uses the body of work by Amy C. Edmondson to help organizations measure and improve psychological safety in their teams.

psychological Safety assessment (Survey)

How the survey works:

  • We run a kickoff meeting to review and discuss the goals of the team, including the 7 questions and the 4 dimensions included in the survey (see details below).
  • The team takes the survey (survey takes 3-5 minutes).
  • Then we debrief the results with the team to gain more insights on the four dimensions of psychological safety.
  • The team collectively decides on focus areas and next steps.
